Updated The Blog’s Template

I updated the blog's template, so webpages should now load a little bit faster than they did before.

Also, for those who can't wait and want "MORE MORE MORE", here is the video I made two days ago (the one I could't upload to Utube).

Be careful about hosting huge files like that - as your site gets more popular you'd better have planety of bandwidth. Much better to host them with video sharing sites like youtbue.

It sounds to me like you have your cell phone on close to your computer. There is some interference coming through.

Sorry to be such a pest, but there is also music coming through in the background. You might want to invest in a real podcast rig that will better isolate from all this interference.

Indeed, beware of your bandwidth costs!

Furthermore, the whole directory containing that video on your site can be browsed, revealing other files. You might want to restrict that.

Thank you eric for sharing us your valuable analyses.

I would like to note this mp4 link is much more welcomed instead of those obscure youtubes formats.

Anyway, consider purchasing basement flat feeding it some studio stuffs afterwards. ;-)

Eric, I find your offerings useful and thought provoking. However I do find it more than a little difficult to print out your video offerings and read through them when I have the time, off line.

Think seriously of reverting to the written word and charts that people can print out and read on the go.

Don't worry. I intend to use mainly utube.

I will try to fix that in the future.

Actually, I left some music on in the background on purpose. I didn't really like it, and I don't intend to so again in the future.

I am using a free hosting service from my ISP. I have 10GM a month, so uploading a video like this every once and a while is ok.

Furthermore, the whole directory containing that video on your site can be browsed, revealing other files. You might want to restrict that.

There is nothing sensitive in that directory. so I am not worried.

Unfortunately, Jeff Burton is right: hosting huge video file isn't a good long term somution. I will look into where to host higher quality videos when I have more free time.

Anyway, consider purchasing basement flat feeding it some studio stuffs afterwards. ;-)

Are you volunteering to finance this?

I intend to do most of my blogging in writing. The reason I create the Utube videos is because the amount of material I had/have accumulated is about equal to three major articles, which will probably take me three weeks to write up (one article a week). I view the Utube videos as quick summaries until I finish those full lenght articles.

There are some things which can be expressed must more easily visually than in writing. Explaining how the central bank balance sheet works in words for example is difficult to do without visual aids. Also, there are people who need to see something to really understand it.

Eric, I hope you'll be pleased to know that your blog has devoted reader even in such a distant country as Russia :-) For many months I try to gather and analyse data about world crisis, but quality of your analysis is MUCH more higher than even best russian economists. I also do research work and understand how many time and stamina it takes you! That's why I'm on your side in creation video-issues, which can save a lot of your precious time, needed for more interesting things.

    My Great respect to you!

PS: If you'll need data about Russia from inside this country (especially about finansial markets and banking system where I have many informants right up to our Central Bank), just let me know, and I'll be glad to help you with what I can!

Let's assume most of those gold shorts are hold by JPM. Looking at the chart, it is about 300 thousands.

Today's price is about 90 thousands per contract, let's assume JPM have 10 thousands US$ loss on each contract.

That's 3 billions loss. It is not so huge still (compared to hundreds of billions on JPM's sheets).

But during closing shorts, gold will jump so the loss can be eg. 3 times higher.

So what is the possible scenario? I don't believe they will close shorts. But even with unlimited money it is not possible to suppress gold prices again if there is not so much in vaults for delivery.

Is FED going to encourage JPM to play the game still and "victimise/dishonour" JPM later for alibi?

There is a size limitation on YouTube videos - probably why you couldn't upload. Great site, I do have to agree that the articles are a bit better than the videos. Thanks.
