As readers of this blog may know, I am setting up a fund to invest in Russian agriculture. Well yesterday, the Private Placement Memorandum (PPM) for Regia Russia Agro Fund Ltd was submitted to the Financial Services Commission (FSC) in the British Virgin Islands (BVI).

This means the Regia Russia Agro Fund Ltd is ready to start accepting investors.

Using Goldmoney to receive subscriptions

It is confirmed that Regia Russia Agro Fund Ltd will use Goldmoney to receive subscriptions. These subscriptions will be in gold (1 gram of gold per share), and the minimum subscription amount will be 3500 grams of gold, which is about $ 113,400 right now ($32.4 per gold gram).

There will be two ways to invest in Regia Russia Agro Fund Ltd:

1) Transfer from an investor's Goldmoney account into the Fund's Goldmoney account. The amount of shares issued will be based on the grams of gold received.

2) Wire transfer to the fund's bank account. Regia Russia Agro Fund Ltd will then transfer the money into its Goldmoney account and buy gold on the investor's behalf. The amount of shares issued will be based on however many grams of gold are purchased.

There will be a 10% discount to the Offering Price (.9 grams of gold per share) for first 100,000 grams of gold invested in fund.

Opening a Goldmoney account

I recommend anyone considering investing in Regia Russia Agro Fund Ltd open their own Goldmoney account. Opening an account is an easy process (I have done it myself). Although a Goldmoney account isn't necessary for investing in the fund, it will make the process smoother and less uncertain. Investors will be able to precisely control how many grams of gold they invest and how many shares they receive, and it will also eliminate the risk of a gold price spike during a wire transfer to fund.

Lastly, when opening an account and buying gold, Goldmoney offers the options of using its London vaults or its Swiss vaults. For the sake of added safety, please use the Swiss vaults.

Due Diligence

As a reminder, there will be due diligence requirements for subscribers of Regia Russia Agro Fund Ltd. Because of the BVI's Anti-Money Laundering Code 1999, new Investors are required to establish and authenticate their identity with the fund's administrator. In order to avoid a delay in the acceptance of subscriptions, investors will need to enclose the following information with their applications.

Passport (*Certified copy)
Utility Bill (Original or *Certified copy)
Occupation
Source of Funds
