While the gulf of mexico may well be getting poluted it has little to do with the recent BP incident. There's something very very wrong with that whole story.

One thing you might want to try and answer is - why are there absolutely no pictures of the submerged sunken deepwater horizon oil rig? Did it really sink? Was it ever even there? I guess it's just not worth visiting in a mini sub :P

The offical story goes that the deepwater horizon was brought in to replace the transocean marinaras and was then destroyed in the accident a couple of months later. The only work the deepwater horizon did at the site was the well that blew up.

This guy does a good job of tearing up alot of the media propaganda surrounding the incident.

  2. Robert says:

another thing to consider is the damage to BP's share price.. what was the market cap delta peak to troff? something like $50billion? That may not be a huge amount these days, but if you consider a 10 : 1 naked short selling ratio suddenly it could be $500 billion. Even better it directly hurts oil longs.. help trim their speculation a while longer.

Unfortunatly so much of this is outdated with the exception of the last article "The Gulf of Mexico is Dying, Special Report on the BP Gulf Oil Spill" which needs more attention. Yes folks, Hell is in session!

    Nice info Eric.

By the way, where is the food crisis?

  5. Robert says:

another thing I'm currently pondering is whether or not this oil field tiber even exists.

It was drilled by the Transocean Deepwater Horizon and is one of the deepest wells ever drilled in the history of oil exploration.

It's also estimated to be a 4000million barrel 'giant' oil field.

Discovering this field in 2009 probably had some impact on the IAE's peak oil forecasts.

It might not be the only made up oil field being used to fudge the peak oil statistics.

Destroying the deepwater horizon (if it exists - if not a convenient way to get it off the books) might have been necessary to get rid of evidence of the fraud.

I haven't found many photos of the deepwater horizon. Asside from the probably 3d studio rendered pix of it sinking there's only two other photos.. one really grainy and another decent quality one of it being moved on the black marlin transport ship (these are the two photos used on the wikipedia page)

If you do a google image search for any of transocean's other oil rigs many more photos come up. Not proof of anything of course.. and again still tehre are absolutely no underwater photos of the rig lying on the bottom of the sea. You'd think these would be worth taking for an event of this alleged importance.

  6. Robert says:

just had another thought.. at what could be a motivation for having fake oilfields over and above manipulating future production statstics --

Suppose you have a bunch of fake oil fields that only exist on paper.

Now suppose you steal a bunch of oil from Iraq or maybe Venezuela or Mexico and pretend that it came from your oil fields.

Oil is swapped all the time, so oil leaving the origin is often not the same oil that arrives at the destination.. a little accounting fraud and you can launder the oil through your fake oil fields.

  7. Robert says:

and... taking this one step further.. instead of stealing the oil what if they were laundering it on behalf of Iran?

I found an interesting temporal correlation between Obama's extended moratorium on deepwater gulf of mexico drilling which according to energy intel

Obama's announcement suspends 33 deepwater exploratory wells currently being drilled in the Gulf of Mexico, effectively shutting in about 200,000 barrels per day of implied new capacity over a 180-day period, according to an analysis by Clearview Energy Partners.

shuts in 200,000 barrels per day of oil.

This correlates relatively well with Iran's announcement that it was stopping oil swap operations on behalf of Caspian countries because of an 'oil gult' as it was having difficulty selling it's own oil.

    Date: Sunday, May 23, 2010
    Source: Reuters

Caspian Sea producers will suspend oil swaps with Iran from June 1 after Tehran steeply raised fees on operations to avoid an oil glut following lower sales of its own crude, industry sources said on Friday.

Also, once Obama lifted the moratorium on May 28th Iran followed suite on November 27th with an announcement that they were renewing caspian oil swap operations.

    Here's that timeline again:

    1. Iran stops oil swaps: Date: Sunday, May 23, 2010
    2. Obama announces an extended moratorium on deepwater drilling: Friday, May 28, 2010
    3. Obama lifts deepwater drilling moratorium: October 12, 2010
    4. Iran to resume oil swap operations: November 27, 2010

So.. could be that Gulf of Mexico 'Deepwater Drilling' is at least partially used as a cover for laundering Iranian crude? Hey just another crazy thought.

  8. Robert says:

    Oops, correction:

Also, once Obama lifted the moratorium on May 28th Iran followed suite on November 27th with an announcement that they were renewing caspian oil swap operations.

The moratorium was actually lifted on October 12th and Iran followed suite with resuming oil swaps with the Caspian region on November 27th.
