He cannot tell you what is going to happen, with any degree of truth, but none-the-less he has prepared for it: stating that he will go live with his sister in Russia.

If that isn't a sign I don't know what is.

If all hell breaks lose in America I can tell you right now no matter how much money, metal or whatever you have... nothing is going to save you from the onslaught of unrest that is going to ensue.

The only thing that would save is to live outside highly populated areas...

I'm grateful for you efforts in laying everything out in a clear, logical, and rational manner. It's not easy to put all of these pieces together, and I believe that you're doing a great job.

There is one piece missing from your analysis, which is critical. That is, at what point in this process does mass hysteria take effect, and what affect will it have?

Here in Phoenix, AZ a few years ago, a major gas pipeline broke causing gas shortages for just a couple days. People were already starting to hoard gasoline, lines formed at gas stations, and physical altercations broke out. That happened after a gas shortage of a very short time!

What will happen if there are FOOD shortages? How long are those shortages possibly going to last? 3 days? 1 month? 3 months? Longer? If it happens on a large scale, can the police do anything? Can the National Guard?

In turn, how will both government and civilians respond to the mass hysteria?

It seems to me that a perfect storm is brewing right now that, if realized, will be catastrophic.

Any thoughts?

The article is about the wealthy, nations including China, which seek out to grab farm land in poor countries. Pushed by World Bank efforts, many poor countries now allow foreign nations to rent or purchase land.

Key issue: securing tomorrows food supply for growing, people crowded and resource scare nations like China, Japan, Korea, etc.

This adds to your view on a different aspect.

Recently I heard that next week the local price of wheat is poised to go down due to record crop this year.

Sure, our single-digit MMT wheat crops won't "save" anybody on global scale. But ATM it doesn't seem disastrous [here in CZ].

Most of local farmers are in red numbers in Czech, according to media: therefore farmers are lowering production because of low food prices and crops next year are being expected lower.

Also lower subsidies from EU (compared to subsidies given to farmers from Germany/France) is considered as a reason.

There's something completely different going on in Poland - the media are alarming about record crops this year leading to grain prices so low that it will be more economic to burn grains instead of coal in winter. Smells fishy for me.

Well, you certainly lay everything out in a logical and orderly manner. I am a simple layman and can understand the facts. Is the U.S. govt just going to let the train wreck happen? There has to be some ace in the hole they are holding on to. I am not saying it's good for U.S. citizens, but there must be some, as so far unknown contingency for this. Or it could be just that simple. At any rate it can't be good. Reads like a holly wood disaster film really.
